Lavender blossom honey from southern France. The honey is best known to travelers from Provence, where the purple-flowering lavender is grown extensively for the perfume and cosmetics industry. The flowers have a strong and distinct scent and the honey bees extract this pure and very aromatic honey from the nectar. Its light, sometimes even white color, firm consistency and outstanding taste make lavender honey the perfect breakfast spread.
Please note that lavender cultivation in southern France is at great risk from a pest. The glass-winged cicada has a richly laid table in the monocultures and eats its way mercilessly through the roots of the lavender fields. Unfortunately, the local lavender farmers do not have the problem under control, so this honey of the highest beekeeping quality can only rarely be offered and prices on the world market have recently risen sharply!
