Welthonig was launched in May 2016. Initially with a shop in Vienna's city center and also with stands at selected markets. There was no online area or social media presence. And it wasn't important to us at the start.

Welthonig is looking for a Social Media Manager

But by March 2020 at the latest, with the start of the COVID pandemic, it was clear that it would not work without online business. For this reason, we set up a web shop from scratch and started posting on social media channels.

At the time, it was not clear whether it would be a success or not. Today we know that it is indeed a success story. Almost 5,000 online orders have been received and a large proportion of these were generated via social networks. Without these sales, the small Welthonig business would not be viable.

Now we want to extend an invitation and start the search for a freelancer. He should continue our journey in social media for us. This includes building and maintaining a community and managing social media channels. We want to give the social media manager free rein in this.

However, the following key points are important to us:

  • the applicant has experience in dealing with social media channels
  • the applicant works on a case-by-case basis, independently and from home
  • the applicant uses his/her own tools (mobile phone, camera, laptop, or similar) to create and distribute videos, reels, stories and postings
  • the applicant receives a flat rate of EUR 150.00 per day of work
  • the employment relationship is initially limited to 3 months
  • the applicant is not an agency, a company and/or its employee

We think that students will be best suited to these tasks. The focus should remain on studying. We are not particularly enthusiastic about self-proclaimed influencers who shine with self-confidence but have little to offer in terms of content.
