The Organic acacia honey from Hungary is the perfect honey for anyone who prefers liquid and sweet honey. The big advantage of this honey is that it always stays liquid and does not become solid, hard or "sugary" even after months.
In addition to its light, clear and liquid consistency, acacia honey is not as sweet as conventional flower honey and does not have a distinct taste of its own. The honey has a pleasant, soft, sweet aroma and is therefore particularly suitable for sweetening tea and other drinks, as well as yoghurt and marinades.
Acacia honey in Europe comes from the nectar of the flowers of the false acacia. It is a type of tree that is also known as the black locust. In the Danube Monarchy , black locust trees were deliberately planted, especially in Hungary, because the robust, hard wood trunks were ideal sailing masts for ships. Black locust trees are also still used today as industrial wood and firewood. But it is now considered an invasive plant species and large-scale clearing is being carried out to try to get rid of it.
For bees and other insects, however, the acacia blossoms mean a full table and a rich supply of food. For beekeepers, acacia forests are an ideal location for their hard-working bees.
