This honey comes from a small beekeeping business in Lübeck on the Baltic Sea. The beekeeper is known for Scandinavian and Baltic honey and the bees are located along the coast with the typical flora. In this case, the apiary is near Travemünde on the Brodtener Steilufer . This is a popular destination for tourists, but otherwise has a wild, untamed hinterland. The beekeeper gave us precise information about the origin of the honey, he writes:
"The thistle and blackberry come directly from our own beekeeping. Our bees for both varieties are located just 200 meters from the shore of the Baltic Sea. There is a huge blackberry field there in the summer (all wild, not a plantation) and then in midsummer countless thistles grow next to it. The whole area is surrounded inland by a golf course that is run close to nature and is therefore largely kept away from outside influences such as gardens or linden trees. Perhaps also interesting for Baltic Sea connoisseurs: The bees are located directly in the landscape protection area of the Brodtener Steilufer. A very well-known clay steep bank, which is always visited by many tourists in the summer."
