Special price 8.95 EUR! Exotic date honey from Thailand. The bees collect the nectar of the red date, also known as jujube or jujuba ( Ziziphus jujuba ). The fruits are used fresh, dried, as a tea and as a soup ingredient in traditional Chinese cuisine and medicine (TCM). The term juicy berry was already established in antiquity, as records show that the fruits had positive effects on the chest, lungs and respiratory tract (including Quintus Gargilius Martialis, Roman scholar in the 3rd century). The honey itself is amber in colour, liquid and stays that way for a long time. Its aroma is not too sweet (less sweet than a conventional flower honey) and it is suitable as a breakfast honey as well as for sweetening food and drinks.
