Exotic date honey from Thailand. The bees collect the nectar of the red date, also known as jujube or breastberry ( Ziziphus jujuba ). The fruits are used fresh, dried, as tea and as a soup garnish in traditional Chinese cuisine and medicine (TCM). The term breastberry was already established in ancient times, as records show that the fruits were believed to have positive effects on the chest, lungs and respiratory tract (including by Quintus Gargilius Martialis, a Roman scholar in the 3rd century). The honey itself has an amber color, is liquid and stays in this state for a long time. Its aroma is not too sweet (less sweet than a conventional flower honey) and it is suitable as breakfast honey as well as for sweetening food and drinks.

500 g date honey á 13,90 EUR; basic price 1 kg = 27,80 EUR
