Update 4.6.2025: Fresh, award-winning city honey from Vienna was brought by the beekeeper.
The Genuine Viennese City Honey from young beekeeper Martin Neubauer comes from particularly beautiful, livable corners of Vienna. His honeybees populate and enrich the Karmelitermarkt and fly, among other places, from the Danube Canal to the Augarten . On green balconies and terraces, they find a variety of nectar sources until late into autumn. Another beekeeping location is in Hietzing , not far from Hermesstraße, outside the gates of the Lainzer Tiergarten. The Hietzing bees live among the numerous parks and gardens of the villas, a retirement home, and also fly over the area around the Hermesvilla .
Genuine Viennese City Honey is harvested as a summer honey and has been awarded the Austrian Honey Seal of Quality . The somewhat cumbersome variety name is "Honeydew Honey with Linden Honey." The honeydew content also explains its dark color, its strong aroma, and its runny consistency. It is a delight for any breakfast table and suitable for the whole family.
Sustainable, natural beekeeping and farming are very important to the beekeeper. He values short transport routes and direct customer service. Therefore, on Saturdays, there is also a farm sale at the Karmeliter Market, where the city's honey is sold directly.
