This heather honey (Swedish: Ljunghonung) comes from the most famous corner of Sweden, namely Småland. This is the home of Astrid Lindgren and her stories about Emil of Lönneberga, who is allowed to play his pranks here. The idyllic landscape is also very well known here in Central Europe thanks to the film adaptations. Dense coniferous forests, many lakes and extensive moors are typical Scandinavian features. The bees find the delicious nectar for this honey mainly in the spring on heather plants.
Real Swedes enjoy the honey on crispbread, or together with berries in muesli and yoghurt. But of course this honey is also a perfect gift for Scandinavia fans.
500 g heather honey from Småland á 14.90 EUR; basic price 1 kg = 29.80 EUR
This honey has a label in Swedish. This honey is only marketable (i.e. approved for sale) in Austria if we have to add additional German-language labels to each honey jar.
