With 6 gold medals, honey from Lorber Hof won the overall victory at the Styrian Honey Awards 2024.
This acacia honey comes from the Lorber family estate in southern Styria. The farm is known for its award-winning pumpkin seed oil and the pollination of its oil pumpkins with its own bees and bumblebees.
A beehive is located in a robinia grove near the Lorber Hof. This honey, with a high acacia content, comes from here. We are very impressed by its pale, light color, liquid consistency, and mild flavor. It is the perfect honey from Austria, especially for sweetening food and drinks.
The beekeeping operation is certified organic by Austria Bio-Garantie (certificate number: 2-00313-2024), but does not claim to be organic honey. This means that the honey jars do not bear the organic label, even though the beekeeper adheres to organic standards. The reason given is the high proportion of conventional farming in the immediate vicinity.
