On Saturday, September 27, 2024, World Honey will be all about honey wine (mead) . This day is dedicated to humanity's oldest alcoholic beverage. And because we want to know exactly whether mead just tastes good, enhances beauty, or also has health benefits, we're bringing in expert Jürgen Piller. He's the creator of Eisenfaust mead, and he knows the secrets inside and out!
To keep things from getting too academic, our guest of honor has brought enough mead with him for tasting and comparison to his heart's content. His Eisenfaust mead is sulfite-free (unsulfured) and brewed according to an original medieval recipe. Numerous gold medals in competitions attest to its cult status. As at previous events, there will be opportunities to sample other producers' brews. This includes Viking mead from Haithabu, the ancient Viking trading post – now a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a museum. Samples are also planned from berry wines in Minden, Steyrerbräu in Steyr, Katlenburger mead, and other producers.
With the ticket, which costs €7.90, you also acquire the right to purchase all products in stock at the store with a 10% discount . The event will end after approximately 1.5 hours, and we ask all guests who have consumed alcoholic beverages not to drive! Please note that alcohol will only be served and sold to persons 18 years of age and older. In case of doubt, age verification will be required.
