The absolute eye-catcher is the honey jar with cute little bees and the slogan "I love you honey ." It's a perfect gift for special occasions. But this honey is also worth a try for its quality: The honey is certified organic and has already received several awards in the past. Another special feature of the beekeeping operation is the natural beekeeping , as the bee colonies overwinter on their own honey, without supplemental feeding with sugar syrup.
To avoid overfeeding, the beekeeper must observe a few things. In particular, they should only collect honey from the colony when nectar sources are still available. In this case, these are sunflowers, which bloom abundantly in the Weinviertel region. In the last days of summer, the bees gather everything they need for overwintering from the sunflower fields and build up their honey reserves to up to 20 kg. This reserve is the bees' basis for survival during the winter and lasts until the new bloom in spring.
