This dark, viscous pine honey comes from the nomadic Mouriki beekeeping family. These wandering beekeepers manage 2,500 colonies in Greece, commuting with their bees between the mainland and the Aegean islands to perform pollination work. The beekeeper receives top-quality honey as payment.
The fir honey comes from Mount Elikonas in the Boeotia region (central Greece). This tranquil area is home to dense fir forests and a ski resort. Bees find the ideal conditions there to collect the honeydew from the firs in peace. Forest honey in general, and fir honey in particular, has a special characteristic: it does not begin to crystallize even at low temperatures. The honey remains beautifully viscous.
We source this honey directly from Greek beekeepers , without any middlemen. For this reason, all information on the label is in Greek. This honey is only marketable (i.e., suitable for sale) in Austria with additional German-language labels, which we are required to affix to each honey jar.
450 g honey jar at 12.50 EUR each; basic price 1 kg = 27.78 EUR
